A rose is never just a rose

September 29, 20265 min read

Bulgarian, Turkish, May rose: how one flower becomes five different perfumes.

From the atelier

Every perfume in the house begins as a handful of raw materials on a blotter, and most of them never leave the bench. The ones that do are tried for months, on skin, on wool and on paper, before a single bottle is filled.

A perfume should change through the day, the way the light does.

We write these notes for anyone who wants to know what is in the bottle and why it smells the way it does. Questions are always welcome at the atelier.
