Our Story

Grasse, since 1928

Four generations of perfumers, one small atelier above the old town, and a stubborn belief that a perfume should take as long as it needs.

Where it began

A bench, a window and a single rose

Born in Grasse, the house works where classical French perfumery meets a slower, stranger kind of composition. Flowers are gathered at dawn, at their most volatile, and distilled the same morning.

Every flacon is filled, numbered and sealed by hand, so no two batches are quite alike.

Who we buy from

Flowers bought at a fair price

Our roses, jasmine and tuberose come from a dozen families around Grasse. We agree the price before the harvest, every year, and we buy the whole crop.

It costs more. It also means the flowers are picked at dawn, when they smell the way they should.

The critical reception

“Ambre Noir is unlike anything in contemporary niche perfumery: magnetic, smoky and eternal.”
